BEEEEP

So as of late this poor mite of a blog has been somewhat neglected.  Now that isn’t to say that we’re not busy or anything…far friggin from it!

So just to link you in to other bits we’re busy with here are some links to get nosey with:

Hilbo is busy doing a course in Games Design in Dundalk IT and you can take a gander at some of the work done along with other budding designers in the field at : https://aggd.wordpress.com   and http://gamesconceptdesign.wordpress.com/

Ian is busy working away at his own projects as well as designing logos for clubs and you take a gander at them: http://www.ianpettitt.blogspot.ie/

Petey is busy writing reviews between work and playing Pathfinder as well as Dungeons & Dragons but you can take a gander at the reviews: http://www.imhotep.no/?did=9109512

Dee has been working on a new routine and managed to squeeze out a comic late summer before embarking on it and is currently working on some new stuff while still promoting her comic: http://www.puredaft-delineavit.blogspot.ie/2012/08/new-comic.html

So we’re about, we’re busy but we’ll update as often as possible…that could mean every month or so in our language but at least you know it’ll happen!  🙂

Noodles & News…

Everyone loves noodles…so here are a few that Hilary and Deirdre have been contributing to ICN the last while.  Ian has kindly guested a few times and his blog is updated so go check it out at www.pettittian.blogspot.ie

Make sure to check out the interviews and reviews that Peter has been doing the last while for the Norwegian webzine IMHOTEP at www.imhotep.no

Apart from that, the only news is that we’re all alive and well and busy with our own projects, so comics on a collaborative scale just take an age to get done.  They do get done though, just not on the regular time scale that folks might think decent. 🙂

FREE COMICS – Vol.4 & Vol.5 (Smiling at the Sky) now available for FREE

As part of the week long birthday celebrations for Irish Comic News, we are giving our comics away for FREE so people can get a taste of what Irish Comics are like.  The Vol.4 was produced by our group back in 2010, while the Vol.5 edition was produced in early 2011.  Vol.6 is currently in production and we hope to have it out this year!

2D Festival in Derry

Just a heads up that the 2D Festival in Derry in taking place this weekend and Longstone members Hilary Lawler and Deirdre de Barra will be at it.  If you are about on the Saturday for the main comic fair, do come over and say hello to us!  We’d love to know what people are doing.

We’ll have Ian Pettitt and Peter Loftus brilliant ‘Smiling at the Sky’ available to buy on the table, so do check it out.

NINJA GIRL

Ian is mega ninja – simple as that.  He has that title for the rest of his life.  So Deirdre managed to put pencil to paper and envision how his practice and ninja skills are honed after a brainstorm between a few of us and the idea of Ninja Girl came to mind.  Perhaps you just had to be there.  Nuf said.

Independents Day!

Just a heads up for anyone about town this weekend, the Independents Day Fair is going to be on this Sunday.  So the Co-op Market is the venue, 12-5pm is the time and it’ll be packed full of interesting cool stuff like stalls with comics, zines, crafts, arts and other bits and bobs.  2e in is really reasonable too.

It also has music on during it and the venue is a very cosy place to sit and have a coffee and sambo.  It’s always a great vibe so well worth checking it out.  If nothing else, check out the cool poster Elida Maiques did for it – does it rock or what? 🙂

Romantic Mayhem Comic Launch!

Flyer compliments of Elida Maiques! 🙂

So we have 3 artists from Longstone comics featured in the up coming Romantic Mayhem Comic.  It’s officially being launched on Saturday 14th April in the upstairs part of Anseo bar, which is on Lower Camden Street (a bit up from Whelans pub and not quite at the Bleeding Horse).

If you are about on Saturday from around 7.30pm onwards, then call in and say howdy!  We’ll all be there and hope to sell a ton of the comics because they are simply amazing.  Tons of other artists got involved and it looks epic.  Great comic collaboration idea that got to see the light of day so hats off to Gar Shanley for stickin with it and gettin it done!  He had a ton of support (you guys know who you are!) and it’s gonna be fab on Sat!

Hilbos playtime version of a flyer too! 🙂
